Janet Elaine Craft 69, beloved Wife, Mother, Nana, Aunt, and Teacher, passed away peacefully at her home on March 10, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Elaine was born February 13,1954 in Pittsburg, PA, and raised by her loving parents Neal & Janet Montgomery (both deceased), she was older sister to Barbara (Steve) Selig of Palm Coast.
She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education at Arkansas State University where she met her loving husband Thomas Craft, and they were married 48 years. She later received her Elementary Teaching Certificate from Bethune Cookman College. She was a devoted elementary teacher for 38 years at Lighthouse Christian Academy, Lake Helen Elementary, and Volusia Pines. She had loving patience, and the unique ability to work with all children to reach their potential, and has touched the hearts of so many students.
She was an adoring Mother to Jeremy (Jessica) Craft of DeLand, and Kristen (Pete) Triolo of Orange City. She loved spending time with her children travelling, camping, and doing crafts. This also extended to her grandchildren, Brooke & Ayden Triolo, and Clara Joy Craft.
Memorial services for Elaine will be held at The Lake Helen Methodist Church 121 W. Delaware Ave. Lake Helen 32744 on April 15, 2023 at 11:30 am, there will be a visitation with the family starting at 10:30 am. Following the service will be a celebration of life at 391 N. High Street, Lake Helen 32744. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to the Make a Wish Foundation by using the link below.
