Jim is survived by his loving wife of 37 years Susie Wells, his four children, Janet Martin (John), Mike Wells (Jackie), Casey Norris (Norman), Crystal Lyons (Gene), 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and his sisters, Margie Davis, Ruby Holton, Barbara Shine and Vonnie Skeen. He is preceded in death by his father Woodrow Wells, his mother Gladys Hall Wells, his sister Louis Brannan, and Great Grandson Sidney Uhles.
Jim joined the US Marine Corp on October 4, 1963. He served until being honorably discharged as a Sargent E5 on September 29, 1967. During which time he was mostly stationed in Okinawa and participated in the Vietnam War. During his time of service, Jim was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
Jim returned home where he continued his career as mechanic working in many of our surrounding communities. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, watching wildlife, working in the garden/yard and the outdoors.
He was a loving husband, father and friend.
