Imojean Hodges, 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 13th 2025 in Jacksonville, FL surrounded by love and family. She was born on August 2nd, 1938 in Dallas City, Illinois and was forever dedicated to her Mother, Florence Lucibelle (Peeler) Eaves, as well as her thirteen siblings.
On August 25, 1956, Imojean married the love of her life, Donald Hodges, at St. John’s UCC in Fort Madison, Iowa. Their life together was a testament to enduring love, partnership, and unwavering support. One of their favorite things to do together was to go for a drive down to the Mississippi River with some KFC, or venture out to Rodeo Park. Imojean learned to play the mandolin so that they could play music together, and she enjoyed helping him work on his art projects. Wherever they went you were sure to see them holding hands. Don preceded her in death on January 13th, 2019.
Imojean had a special gift for caring for babies, children, and the elderly, leading to her spending much of her life being a dedicated caregiver. She had a very generous spirit and a desire to help others, especially when someone was facing a difficult time. Her faith was very important to her and she loved to read her bible and listen to gospel music. Imojean enjoyed crocheting and embroidery, listening to country and bluegrass music, shopping at antique stores, an impromptu visit to Hobby Lobby, and watching Rachel Ray or other cooking or craft shows. She loved trying out new recipes inspired by her favorite programs. Imojean had a green thumb and grew the most beautiful rose bushes in their garden.
She is survived by one brother: Richard Eaves of Fort Madison, IA two daughters: Luann (Gerhard) Eipert of Silver City, NM, Susan (Ken) Powell of Jacksonville, FL, one son: Jim (Aileen) Hodges of Twin Lakes, WI, six grandchildren: Jessica (Mike) Mickelsen, Collin (Nikki) Poetting, Abby (Brian) Thornburg, Alfred Hodges, Oland Hodges, Ashley (Mike) Samuel, six great-grandchildren Minerva Crutcher, Lewis Poetting, Park Mickelsen, Alexander Irias, Xavier Irias, Milo Thornburg and many nieces and nephews.

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Cremation will be entrusted to Neptune Society and her ashes will be interred at a later date next to her husband, Don, in Kahoka, MO.
