No matter where life took her, she made it a priority to get involved in her community by actively volunteering. She was always looking for ways to improve the lives of those around her. Known for her festive spirit, she took immense joy in beautifully decorating Christmas trees to brighten the holidays for others. These acts were a true reflection of the light she brought to the world every single day. Her vibrant nature and compassionate heart fueled her endless desire to help others while also being a devoted, loving mother to her three children. The qualities she exhibited throughout her life define her legacy of selflessness and generosity. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leo Petoski, her parents Rodney and Lois Carpenter, her two brothers Lester and Thad, and her two sisters Carolyn and Gwen. She is survived by her children, sons Stanley and Michael, daughter-in-law Jennifer, daughter Judy, and several nieces and nephews and extended family.
Arrangements have been made through the Neptune Society for a private burial at Woodlawn National Cemetery in Elmira, NY where she will be placed in eternal rest with her husband. In honor of her lifelong spirit of giving, the family asks that you perform an act of kindness for someone in your community this holiday season. Rest in peace, you are home now!
