Harriet Jane Weeks

Harriet Fisher Weeks, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on July 9, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on February 16, 1938, in the small town of Derringer, Pennsylvania, Harriet was the cherished daughter of Howard and Ida (Raber) Fisher. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Daniel and Howard Jr., and her beloved daughter, Kimberly Iasimone.

A graduate of West Hazleton High School, Harriet went on to dedicate over 31 years of her life to the United States Postal Service. Her career, which culminated in her retirement in 2003 from the Edgewater, Florida post office, was marked by her unwavering commitment and reliability. Harriet retired to care for her mother, demonstrating the deep devotion and love she had for her family.

Harriet was an active member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church until her move to Florida, where her faith and community spirit continued to shine brightly. Her life was enriched by her love for gardening, reading, knitting, and canning. However, it was perhaps her time spent with her grandchildren that brought her the greatest joy.

A woman of remarkable character, Harriet was known for her quick wit, warm smile, and strong will. Her gift for making everyone feel welcome and her boundless kindness touched countless lives. Harriet's legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Harriet leaves behind a loving family who will carry her memory in their hearts: her children, Gerald Weeks (Debra) of Dillsburg, PA, Robert Weeks (Jacinta) of Drums, PA, and Debra Benedict (Shawn McAleenan) of New Smyrna Beach, FL. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Codye and Dalton Benedict of New Smyrna Beach, FL, and Sarah Weeks of Allentown, PA.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to Liz, Lindsey, Shanella, and Artecia at Halifax Hospice for their compassionate care during Harriet's final days.

Harriet's life was a testament to love, resilience, and the beauty of human connection. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit will remain forever in the hearts of those she touched.
