He was a native of Jacksonville and graduated from Bishop Kenny High School.
He attended seminary school and graduated from Jacksonville University with a business degree in 1970.
He owned Desert Sand Sandwich Shop and M&M Liquors for 38 years. He retired and then worked for the Duval County Clerk of Court for 7 years before retiring.
He enjoyed golfing and sports, especially Gator football and spending time with family and friends.
Greg was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Bishop Kenny Council.
Greg was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother and friend to many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fayze and Helen Solomon.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Janis Elder Solomon, daughter Aimee Solomon, son Joseph Solomon (Summer Boyd), daughter Loraine Solomon Skutt (Shawn), grandchildren Zachary Cheary, Nicholas and Samantha Solomon, and Lorena Saladino, 3 sisters, Mary Ann Hashem (Harold), Annette Krestalude (Bob) and Theresa Pellicer (Don), several nieces and nephews, in-laws and great friends.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 12th at 11 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church, 2403 Atlantic Blvd.
