Gerard F Newsom

Gerard F. (Rod) Newsom went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 7, 2018. He was born February 27, 1939 in Jacksonville, FL to Ross and Margaret (Gardner) Newsom. He graduated from Andrew Jackson HS (1966), and while serving in the Air Force, he met and married Mary Ann Zastrocky (1962). Rod dearly loved his wife and family, but his greatest love was knowing and serving the Lord.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Newsom; children, Sherri G. Johnson (Jeff), Michael G. Newsom (Suzanne), and Laurie M. Sandoval (Sergio); grandchildren, Brittany Campbell (Wayne), Aaron Johnson (Kayla), Elise Morrison (Ryan), Caleb Johnson, John Newsom, Elena Sandoval, and Sasha Sandoval; and two great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3pm, Saturday, September 15th at All Souls Anglican Church, 4042 Hartley Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32257, with a reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in his honor to Community Hospice of NE Florida or All Souls Anglican Church.
