Eugene leaves behind siblings William (Bill), Richard (Dick), Robert (Butch), Lucille (Dolly Girl) and nieces and nephews.
He also leaves behind his children, Jeffrey Eugene, Cherilyn Ann, Claude Jensen, Jennifer Mary and the mother of his children.
His grandchildren Jessica Mary, Malina Ann, Zachary Jensen and great grandchildren, Thomas Joseph, Luciana Josephine, Adonis Konstantinos, Natalia Ann (the Tyke) and Charlotte Louise will miss him dearly.
When Eugene was a young man he and his brother Bill joined the US Army during the Korean War together. Being close in age they did a lot of things together.
Eugene was employed at New England Die Casting, New Haven Board and Carton, and was a machinist and devoted employee of Pratt & Whitney Aircraft of North Haven where he rarely missed a day of work. Being a good provider was a priority for Eugene and he excelled at this.
He enjoyed gardening, Country Western and Classical music, attending many live Classical concerts. He also enjoyed talk shows, and through the years loved going on various vacations with his family.
In 1972 Eugene was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He knew that those who die are sleeping. He knew that the Bible said in Ecclesiastes 9:5, “For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing at all, nor do they have any more reward”. Jesus said, “Lazarus, our friend has fallen asleep, but I am traveling there to awaken him.” The disciples did not understand because they said. “Lord, if he is sleeping, he will get well.” Then Jesus said to them plainly: “Lazarus has died.” Jesus gave way to tears. He knows how we feel. He went to where Lazarus was laid and said, “Lazarus, come out!” And Lazarus did come out. He was alive! Read John 11:1-44. One day soon, Jesus is going to wake up “all those in the memorial tomb”. Please visit jw.org where you can learn more about the Bible’s hope for the dead and the promise for a paradise earth. Eugene’s family members hold on to the same hope and look forward to welcoming him back, with open arms.
Eugene was an important part of all our lives and will be greatly missed.
