Donna Lee Cloud

Donna Lee Cloud, age 73, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on 18 Jun 2024 at Baptist Hospital in the Hospice ward for MD Anderson Cancer Center, Jacksonville, FL. She was surrounded by immediate family (Husband) Delos Cloud, (Son) Daniel of Jacksonville, FL. (Son) Gary and his wife Jill of Charlotte, NC.

In April 2024 it was discovered she had cancer that had metastasized into many of her other organs. Within 2 months she lost her battle with Cancer. Two weeks prior to her passing Delos and Donna celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on 29 May.

After learning the depth of her cancer all of Donna's siblings; Betty Jo Hendricks, Tommy Hunt, Jessie Hunt, Colleen Tucker, and Bobby Joe Hunt, all from Ponca City, OK, came to Jacksonville to support her wishes to Survive the cancer. Delos’ brother, Merrill and his wife Rosie, of Grand Junction, CO, also visited. Donna was very happy to see all of them while she was still healthy enough to enjoy the reunion.

While Delos was in the Navy, Donna, Gary, Daniel all lived in Misawa, Japan (72-76), Ft Meade NSA (76-80), NAVCOMSTA Rota, Spain (80-83), NSGA Galeta, Panama (83-85), NTTC Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo, TX (85-89), CINCUSNAVEUR, London, England (89-93), BUPERS Washington D.C. (93-96). Delos retired from the Navy in Jan 1997. Donna started working in the Pentagon (May 1993) and Bolling AFB and she retired from the Air Force Civilian Personnel as a GS-12 in Feb 2012. We moved to Jacksonville, FL in March 2012 and have been there ever since.

They had a wonderful life together, travelled the world, raised two excellent sons, eight dogs and four cats over all her years. Our last dog, Murray, arrived as a puppy and lived to 14 years until Dec 2022. Donna and Delos loved going on cruises. No matter where and when they would sail away to another world when they could.

Preceding her in death were her father Fred Hunt Sr., mother Barbara Caldwell Hunt, brother Fred (Skeeter) Hunt Jr.

Memorials are planned in Jacksonville, FL, July 14, 2024 and another one in Ponca City, OK on July 27, 2024.
