Donald Francis Tweedell, age 88, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2018 with his wife of 64 years by his side. He was known to all as a hard-working, devoted family man. Donald is survived by his wife and best friend, Marilyn Pfeifer Tweedell; his sisters, Marilyn, Anna Mae, and Shirley; his children, Rob Tweedell, Eve O’Donnell, and Steve Tweedell; 10 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild. Upon graduating from Notre Dame High School in Quincy, Il., Donald enlisted with the United States Navy and served honorably during the Korean War. After completing his service, Donald split his time between raising his family, working and completing his degree in Business Administration at Quincy University. Later, Donald was the founder and co-owner of Air Compressor Products. Donald was a faithful member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed his church, family, friends, golf, tennis and traveling. His sense of humor was enjoyed by all. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Thursday, January 11th, 2018 at 10:30 am. Donald will be laid to rest at the Jacksonville National Cemetery at a later date.
