He was born July 4, 1944 in Greenwich, CT to James and MaryAnn (D’Agostino) Geronimo. Mr. Geronimo served his country as a Corpsman in the US Navy serving most of his active duty at St. Albans Naval Hospital. He also did a tour of duty on CV 59 USS Forestall and the DE USS DeLong while he was in the reserves. He and his business partner, John Izzo (deceased) started Arrow Express Inc. in 1978 which is still in operation to this day. He was President and COO until his retirement in 2007
Dennis was an avid sportsman, golfer, car enthusiast and fisherman - Go Cowboys! He retired in 2007 when he and his wife Joan (Ostaszewski) built a new home in St. Augustine, FL and became Frequent Floaters, cruising as often as possible. He enjoyed being a DJ with his brother on the “Dr. and Dennis” show on WFCF Flagler College Radio. He loved all of their rescue pups over many years as well as the cat Sami, who adopted them.
Dennis was a Catholic and member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife Joan of 49+ years, who he loved more than words could say. He was predeceased by his son James of St. Augustine, and his brother Dr. Roger Geronimo, also of St. Augustine. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother-in-law Helen Ostaszewski, daughter-in-law Marybeth and grandsons Michael of Austin, TX, and Navy Lt. Jr. Grade James (Emily) at Naval base Kitsap-Bangor, Washington, with their daughters; Addison, Olivia and Isla.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the future at a date and place to be announced. Memorial donations should be made to the National Marfan Foundation, the Parkinson Foundation or The ALS Association.
