

Charles Robert Pinkerton, Sr. of Lake City, Florida, passed away on December 16, 2025 at the age of 87 years old. He was born on November 23, 1938 in Waverly, FL to Beamon Dee Pinkerton and Mildred Jerkins. Later he moved to Jacksonville, FL and graduated from Andrew Jackson High School, where he met his wife of 68 years, Carma Lou Overstreet.
Charles and Carma were married in Kingsland, GA on February 21, 1957 and he joined the Air Force the same year. Charles served 6 years on Active Duty.
After the Air Force they returned to Jacksonville and after few jobs, Charles felt called to preach. Charles's first church was Bethel Baptist in Trenton, FL. At the same time he received a scholarship to Stetson University, where he graduated with a B.A. in teaching. He would later attend Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans, Louisiana and graduated with a Double Masters in Theology.
Over the past 57 years, Charles pastored eleven different churches. He also was a Missions Director in Clinton, TN and New Orleans, LA. After several mission trips over the years, Pastor Charles founded International Impact Ministries (IIM) in 2004, and was the Principal officer until 2019. IIM worked building schools and churches, providing medical care, and feeding the hungry, in Jamaica, Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua, Guatemala, and El Salvador; they also sponsored several churches and brought many people to Jesus Christ.
Charles's passions were preaching God's word, winning souls to Christ, spending time with family, especially kids, grandkids and great grandkids. He loved baseball, the FSU Seminoles, and fishing (especially bass Fishing)!
Pastor Charles is preceded in death by his son, Charles Robert Pinkerton, Jr. also known as “Chuck”.
He is survived by his wife Carma; his sister and brother-in-law, Pam and Jeff Cordero; his son Chris and daughter-in-law Helga; his daughter Christina, and daughter-in-law Melanie; as well as 8 grandchildren, Charlene, Erika (Jordan), Stephen, Hayden, Amanda (Micah), Kaitlyn (Shawn), Guillermo, and Kai; 13 great grandchildren: Alexis, Aydan, David, Jose, Rosalee, Issabella, Titus, Silas, Fate, Trevor, Jace, Killian, and Remi Lou and one great great grandchild, Scarlett.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be on February 28, 2026 at Jonesville Baptist Church, 17722 15th Ave, Newberry FL 32669, at 1:00 pm. Guests are invited to stay after service and visit the the Pinkerton Family and other guests in the Fellowship Hall. Refreshments will be served.
