Bianca Beatrice Vignone Love (“Bea”), 90, died peacefully with family by her side on September 22, 2018. She was born in Poughkeepsie, NY, and received a B.S. in Physical Education at Panzer College of Physical Education, E. Orange, NJ.
Prior to retirement, Bianca was a Physical Education Teacher at Bishop Moore Catholic High School, Orlando, FL, from 1967-1985. She also served as a Former Director, Volusia Substitute Teacher Organization, Inc., where she successfully obtained pay raises for all Volusia County Substitute Teachers.
Bianca was passionate about helping others. She served as a Eucharistic Minister to the sick and housebound for Sacred Heart Catholic Church in New Smyrna Beach, FL for many years. She was a frequent Volunteer at Camp Boggy Creek, founded by Paul Newman and General H. Norman Schwarzkopf in 1996, so that children diagnosed with chronic or life-threatening conditions could enjoy a camp experience in a safe, medically-sound environment. Bianca also volunteered in Rosemary Walton’s Kindergarten classroom at Read-Pattillo Elementary School for 20 years.
Bianca met her husband, Ed, in the 3rd grade in North Bergen, NJ. They were married in the Chapel of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church of the Palisades, West New York, NJ on September 16, 1951. Shortly thereafter, they moved to the Philippines. They returned to the U.S. in 1958 and resided in Baltimore, MD before moving to Florida in 1960.
Bianca is survived by her children, Philip (Diana) Love, Thomas (Kathy [deceased]) Love, Marina (Bernie) Benigno, Lori Knight, and Jonathan Love; her brother, Edward Vignone; her grandchildren, Sean (Bridget) Knight and Lindsey (Pete) Mason; and great-grandchildren, Sidney and Audrey Mason. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Edgar Lee Love; her father, Achilles Vignone; her mother, Florence Vignone; and brother, John Vignone.
Bianca will be remembered for her deep faith in God and her never ending devotion to her family and friends. Her Bishop Moore students will remember her with love and respect, not only for her strength and fortitude, but for her genuine care and concern for each and every one of them; she was both a teacher and a confidant. Though we are deeply saddened by her passing, we are incredibly blessed for having known and loved her, and she is forever in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bianca’s name to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (998 Father Donlon Drive, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168) or the Halifax Health Hospice Care (3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129).
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all of the wonderful staff and caregivers at Halifax Health Hospice Care for the love, care, and comfort they provided, not just to Mom, but to all of us.
The family will celebrate Bianca’s life at a Private Service for Family and Mom’s close friends at a later date.
