Arthur S Copeland

Arthur S. Copeland passed away on August 24, 2022 at the age of 67, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 14, 1955 to Arthur George Copeland and Mai Maudeline Flemming Copeland in Jacksonville, FL.

Art graduated from Terry Parker High School, Jacksonville, in 1973. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the USMC obtaining the rank of Corporal and was Honorably Discharged in 1975. He specialized in Field Radio Operations and Parachutist.

Art joined the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office in 1976 and retired 2002 as a Senior Patrolman after 26 years. He was Chief Bailiff for Division E and L of the Duval County Court. He also worked as a Fleet Service Agent for U.S. Airways and a Security Officer for G4S Secure Solutions.

Art was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, MaryAnn Copeland. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marcia (Elkins) Copeland, brothers Ted Kavinsky, Blair (Karen), Mark (Paula), Catherine Hart, Christopher Valdez (Joan) as well as, several nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service with honors will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, September 22, 2022 in the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
