Valeria Jean Taylor

Valeria Jean (Bass) Taylor, went to her final resting place on October 3rd, 2024. Jean was born on July 25th, 1937 in Haskell, Texas, to Lawrence Matthew Bass and Roberta Mae Carroll, one of four children. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Billy Lee, and her son Steven Ray. Jean is survived by her three children: Sherry (Johnny), Bobby, and Darrell; four grandchildren (John, Ashly, Ryan, and Taylor); four great-grandchildren (Althea, Forrest, Ivy, and Sarah); her sister, Sandra, and two brothers, Jerry and Wayne, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Jean retired after 28 years with Texas Instruments and spent her latter years teaching Sunday School at the First Baptist Church of Forney. For many years, Jean organized the Thomas family reunions in Haskell, Texas. Jean was known for her unyielding faith in God and her unconditional love for her family. She spent her life caring for those she loved and shared the word of God with everyone she encountered. Jean was known for her compassion and heart of gold. She will be dearly missed by her family.

A memorial service will be held to honor Jean on Thursday, October 10th at 11 AM at the First Baptist Church of Forney. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to the First Baptist Church of Forney.
