Tommy Read Lamm

Tommy Read Lamm was born on May 17, 1948, in Greenville, Texas. He was the last of seven children born to Carl and Bell Lamm of Celeste, Texas. Tommy attended Celeste High School where he graduated in 1967. After High School Tommy joined the Army, where he served as a combat medic in Vietnam. Upon his return from service, he obtained a business degree from East Texas A&M University. He owned and operated a convenience store in Celeste, Texas for a few years. Afterward, he worked primarily as a production manager for most of his working career in Greenville, Terrell, and in the Dallas, Texas area. For fun, Tommy enjoyed fishing, dominoes, playing cards, camping in Colorado and going on cruises.

Tommy was married to Jean Ward on February 13, 1982. They lived in Garland, Texas for over 35 years. On February 12, 1987, they gave birth to their only child, Johnnie Erick Lamm.

Tommy had a major stroke on April 2, 2020 after which he was admitted into a rehab facility until his passing on February 8, 2025.

He is survived by his son, Johnnie Erick Lamm, his ex-wife Jean Lamm, his brother Kenneth Lamm and numerous nieces and nephews including: Sandra Dyer, Chester Sanders, John Richard Sanders, Angela Lanehart, Nanette Jones, Jan Buchannan, Roy Chambliss, Gary Lamm, Rhonda Jacks , Carl Lamm, Kenny Lamm, Debbie Ray, Tracy Lamm, and Kelly Puig. He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Carl and Bell Lamm, his sisters Betty Chambliss and Lawanda Sanders, his brothers Dwain Lamm, Joe Lamm and Johnnie Erick Lamm, and his nieces Sonja Lamm and Melody Rozell.
