5-18-1943 – 4-11-2024
Tom Linehan passed away peacefully with family members by his side on
Thursday, April 11th, 2024, at the Oxford Glen memory care residence, in
Carrollton TX. Tom was 80 years old.
A native of Wisconsin, Tom was born in the small town of Tomah. As a young
man, Tom embarked on a life journey that allowed him to educate himself and
eventually become one of the original pioneers in the fields of computer graphics
and computer animation, in addition to art exploration in other mediums like
stained-glass installations and Greek and Latin translation works.
Living in Columbus, Ohio in the late 1970s, and a single father to his son Peter,
Tom earned his Master’s and Doctorate degrees from The Ohio State University in
art education/computer animation.
Throughout his professional career, Tom served as a college president, a corporate
vice president, an associate dean, a research laboratory director, a professor, and
a public-school teacher.
At his core, Tom was a decent, caring human being. It was his mission to be kind,
to show love, to help others, to inspire, to uplift and to protect. Love, humility
and empowerment will always be synonymous with Tom. He touched countless
lives, many of them college students who have gone on to have successful and
fruitful careers of their own.
Tom will be terribly missed by many, his family, colleagues and life-long friends
