Sandy came to Dallas in 1981 and loved her job at the Wall Street Journal as Circulation Manager for 26 years. She married Kevin McCormack in 1994 and she was the love and light of his life as he was hers.
Sandy supported Kevin during the 26 years he was the proprietor of the Time Out Tavern (“TOT”) in Dallas personally providing huge feasts for special occasions there, hosting sports figures, the Dallas Stars Stanley Cup, politicians, authors, broadcasters, movie stars and thousands of loyal Dallasites.
She was a shining light in the lives of many and always left a lasting impression of giving and kindness. Her sense of humor and honesty were unmatched.
Sandy loved her Green Bay Packers, 8 golden retriever rescues, cooking, reading, relaxing in the backyard with a chiminea, and creating lasting memories of travel with Kevin, particularly to the Caribbean.
Sandy is predeceased by her parents, Warren Brown and Thea Ristow (Ronald) and brother, Robert Brown. She was loved by and will be missed by her husband Kevin, her sister, Karen Sproles nieces and nephew, Lauren Henry Karnitz, Amanda Henry Thompson, Matthew Sproles (Marissa), Nicole Brown Minto, and Tonya Brown Yanick (Kevin). Also, 8 grand nieces and nephews and the McCormack family.
Special love and thanks go to her medical team, Drs. Elizabeth Ann Moran, Matthew Pompeo and the entire Presbyterian Hospital Dallas Wound Care Center team, as well as Drs. Diaz, Le, Hassan, Patel and the MOST professional nursing staff. The family truly appreciates the sacrifices and support of Sandy’s caregivers and the myriad of friends who helped her through these horrific struggles.
