

Paul Armijo, lovingly known as Paulie, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2025 surrounded by loved ones, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 45. Born on September 27, 1979, in Pueblo, Colorado, Paulie carried with him a vibrant spirit, a generous heart, and an unmatched ability to make people feel seen and loved.
Paulie is survived by his devoted partner, Stan Williams, and his beloved mother, Kathy Armijo Quiñones and her husband Ernesto, grandmother, Jennie Godinez and her partner Roy, sister, Tawnya Boulier, brother-in-law Shaun, niece Stella and nephew Theo. In addition, he is survived by many close family members in Colorado, California, and New Mexico plus countless friends from all over the world whose lives were touched by his warmth and kindness. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Armijo.
Throughout his life, Paulie called many places home—Pueblo and Denver, Colorado; Union City, California; and eventually, Dallas, Texas, where he settled with Stan in 2020. Along the way he grew close to family and found new friends at every stop.
Paulie grew up in Pueblo, where he still remained close with his childhood friends. In high school, he was on the football team and enjoyed hanging out with friends at various events and parties. After high school, Paulie studied at the Art Institute of Denver, then made his way out west to live in the Bay Area for a few years. He continued his studies at the Art Institute of San Francisco before returning to Colorado to live in Denver. Upon moving to Dallas, Paulie continued to nurture the bonds he formed in Colorado and California while also developing close relationships with friends in Texas.
A passionate home cook and lifelong sports fan, Paulie could often be found in the kitchen or on the softball field. He proudly played in many recreational leagues while in Denver, traveling around the country to tournaments. He cheered for the San Francisco Giants with unwavering loyalty, often being seen in his Giants cap and hoodie. He shared his love of cooking by creating meals for his loved ones, his chicken mole will spark warm memories for anyone who was fortunate enough to have it.
Paulie was a smiling face that could brighten even the darkest of days. Paulie had an innate ability to take care of others. He was a great listener, always making time to listen, whether he was a sounding board or a shoulder to cry on, Paulie was unwavering in his love and support for others. His sense of humor, quick wit, and warm smile brought joy to everyone around him.
Paulie believed deeply in justice, equality, and human rights, and he lived those values in the way he treated others. He made friends wherever he went and had an incredible gift for making others feel included, valued, and loved. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and fierce compassion.
Celebrations of Paulie’s life will be held on July 11 in Pueblo, Colorado and on July 12th in Denver, Colorado.
