
After graduation from high school, Marilyn served her country during the Korean War as a Navy Wave as the editor of the base newspaper. She met her future husband, Jack Mason, while she was enlisted. They later relocated to the Dallas / Richardson area.
Marilyn had many hobbies: she acquired her pilot’s liscense and enjoyed flying with her husband, Jack. She took many art and language classes at Richland Community College. She loved to travel and especially loved her trips to France. Marilyn had a heart for animals and long supported the Dallas Humane Society.
She is preceded in death by their her parents, Norman Reid Carter and Alma Lorene Geerdes. Her sister, Norma Jane Jennings, her brothers Norman Reid Carter Jr. and James Edward Carter. Her husband of 43 years, Jack Ackiss Mason.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
