Laura Lynn Mazzella of San Jose, CA and Wichita Falls, TX passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 4, 2024 at the age of 68. She was born Laura Lynn Jacopetti on October 21, 1956 to Roy and Joan Jacopetti in Redwood City, CA. She grew up in Redwood City until she was thirteen. Then her family moved to Sunnyvale, CA, where she graduated from Peterson High School in 1974.
After high school she worked in a variety of jobs including as the Service Department’s cashier and later “DMV girl” at Anthony Mazzella’s car dealership, where she met the love of her life, Phil Mazzella. Phil and Laura got married on January 17, 1981 in Lake Tahoe, CA. Soon their marriage was blessed with three children: Jennifer Lynn, Sandra Marie, and Daniel Philip to join her stepson Charles Sylvester. She stayed home to raise her children. She then went back to school at Heald College and was proud to earn a 4.0 and her associate’s degree in medical billing.
Laura was a talented seamstress, an ambitious entrepreneur with her mobile maid company, and a fierce woman who always spoke her mind. She loved having her feet in the ocean, coffee with more hazelnut creamer than coffee, Virginia Slims, chocolate cake, and her kids and grandkids most of all.
Always a mama bear, Laura was a fiercely dedicated mom to all of her children and then her children by marriage and then her grandchildren. Family came first and was above all else to Laura, a value she instilled in them all. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill.
She was preceded in death by her parents Roy Jacopetti and Joan Maranta and step dad Jim Delisle, her brother Ricky, and her husband of 32 years, Philip Mazzella.
Laura is survived by her three children, their spouses, and her five grandchildren: Jennifer and Jeremy Gamache and their sons Carter and Mason; Sandra Mazzella and her daughter Gabriella; Daniel and Amber Mazzella and their son Warner and daughter Grace. Her stepson Charlie and his wife Sabrina Mazzella and their daughters Adriana and Ellexis. Her siblings: Linda, Ronni, Elysse, and Joey and other loving family members.
