Growing up he was an avid member of his youth group, and through high school he was part of award-winning drum lines in Ruidoso and Clovis, New Mexico, as well as a cross country track athlete. He graduated from Clovis High School in Clovis, New Mexico, in 1993 and went on to attend Lubbock Christian University for a short time where he was studying to be a youth minister. He moved to Dallas, Texas in 1995, where he found his love for karaoke and had the great opportunity to be the drummer for a few local bands there, his favorite being 8 Possum Tuesday, where he developed lifelong friendships and brotherhood.
He was an IT wiz and used those skills to create intricate light shows for the band Highway 31, and for Louie Louie’s Piano Bar in Deep Ellum, Dallas, Texas, where he was their lighting/sound manager for the past several years. He entered into union with the love of his life, Tricia, whom he affectionately called “A Gra”, on July 21, 2011.
