I worked for John A. Scott for 15 years.  He was very well know and respected in the medical industry.  John was a very gifted artist which he used that talent when he was developing the medical braces for his company.  It was always a great joy to him to make custom braces for people with special needs.  Seeing the smiles on their faces when something fit and the pain was gone or subsided was what kept him going. John had some good collector cars, giving his stepson a beautifully restored '66 Mustang Hi-po 271 hp, 289. He also owned a '67, 435hp, 427 Corvette roadster, among several others.  As an artist he had good taste in many things, and that extended to the quality of his friends, who, as one, I loved him like the brother I never had and the same he told me, since he had no brother, either.

My dearest husband I miss you more than you will ever know! It is hard to fathom a year has passed, however I think of you every day. I remember the first time I saw you, and I look forward to being reuniment in the future. You were my dearest and best friend, My dearest husband 💖

John was my lifelong friend and classmate at UNT. He was an easy going generous and just, wonderful human being that everybody loved, at least all the ones I knew.
We had many good times together talking and buying my art, for either his personal collection or advertising for Sports Supports in the early days of the company. We continued collaberating into the 21st century with New Options also.
John had no overbearing ego, like so many self-made millionaires. He took each day with a grain of salt and did his best to get things done and at personal sacrifice, put the company's employees before his own needs.
Whether giving his stepson an expensive classic car or making sure employees were paid first before other bills, you could count on John to honor committments. The world is a poorer place without him. RIP, my friend.

I worked for Sports Supports for 10 years...John was one of a kind, as a boss and was a kind and gentle soul. I've thought of him often thru the years.
May God comfort those who new and loved him.

It’s very difficult to sum up a 35 plus year relationship with John.  Many great memories and lots of laughs for sure.  It was also my privilege and pleasure to work for John.  John was totally committed to his business, his employees and his customers, in good times and bad. John left a very large footprint  in the orthopedic/sports medicine world. Not many can say that.   Rest in peace old friend. 

I do and will miss John Scott until, by the grace of God, we meet in heaven . John was always quick to tell me a joke or just talk about cars, antiques, sports, or military aviation. I believe those shared interests brought us together and solidified our friendship. He loved his friends and family dearly.  He would frequently ask me to help Debra with anything  she might need  help with around the house. I wish I had met John a lot sooner than I did. I missed out, but I was blessed to have just been his friend. Until we meet again, RIP!

John and I used to get up in the middle of the night to go striper fishing at Lake Tacoma.  One of those fishing trips he pulled in a 20# striper and it ended up on the deck of the boat next to my foot. It's mouth was big enough to take my foot off.  It was the biggest one we ever caught.  Good times!  I always appreciated how he would let me work with his custom seamstresses  taking my visions designing braces. God bless him! He is greatly missed.
