Jeff battled heart disease for years and was listed on the heart and kidney transplant list at the time of death. He fought hard to the very end, and he passed peacefully, surrounded by family and friends.
Jeff was born in Beaumont, Texas to Barbara and Dalton Guidry. Jeff received his Bachelors of Social Work from Lamar University and Masters of Education from Concordia University. Jeff taught in public and private education for the majority of his career. His love for education was unmeasurable and his passion cannot be understated. Jeff’s love for working with intellectual disabilities began at Beaumont State Center and was employed at Green Oaks School in Arlington.
Jeff is survived by his wife of forty years, Judy, his sons, Jeremy and wife Lauren, and Jacob, his mother, Barbara, and brother, Joe and wife Lisa. He is preceded in death by his father, Dalton Guidry, and sister, Joanie Pond. A multitude of family members along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Jeff enjoyed many hobbies, including gardening, traveling, painting, and photography. His loved ones remember him as a kind and compassionate man, a loving husband, and a supportive father. He served his community in many roles at his church, Advent Lutheran.
A celebration of life service will be held in Jeff's honor Saturday, May 17th, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Advent Lutheran Church in Arlington, Texas. Friends and family are kindly asked to wear florals or bright colors.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Green Oaks School or Advent Lutheran Church, both in Arlington, Texas.
