Connie Lee Wallner, of Richardson, Texas, passed away peacefully at Remington Transitional Care in Richardson on September 14, 2025. She was welcomed into her final home with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Connie was born on October 25, 1946, in Big Spring, Texas, to E.B. and Mary Jo Baker. As the eldest child, she shared her childhood with her younger sister, Penny Thor. Growing up, Connie’s parents worked in the oil industry, drilling water wells. This nomadic lifestyle took the family across various towns in West Texas, including Big Spring, Sterling City, Sweetwater, Barnhart, San Angelo, Big Lake, Ozona, and Snyder. For young Connie, these constant moves were a source of adventure, and she often described them as a fun way to experience life as a child.
At age 5, the family settled in Seminole, Texas, providing Connie with a permanent home. She graduated from Seminole High School in May 1965, where she excelled academically and in extracurricular activities. She was president of the student council, a twirler in junior high, and in high school, she was honored as Homecoming Queen, Football Queen, and one of the Featured Twirlers. Connie also directed 15 school plays and participated in several beauty contests, including Lions Club Queen, Miss Seminole, Miss Grain Sorghum, Maid of Cotton, Miss West Texas, Industrial Arts Sweetheart, and A&M Sweetheart.
In August 1965, Connie married Kenneth B. Snider in Andrews, Texas. Shortly thereafter, Ken joined the Army, and they were stationed in Germany. During their time abroad, Connie studied and traveled extensively, visiting 15 countries, an eye-opening experience for a young woman from West Texas. The couple had two sons, Ken B. Snider III (Trey) and Jon Kipley Snider. After Ken’s military service, they moved to Plano, Texas, where they later divorced in 1978.
In 1978, Connie began working for Rockwell International, where she met Jim Wallner in 1979. The two began dating in 1980 and were married on June 18, 1983. Together, they shared a blessed life for 45 years.
Throughout her career, Connie worked in various fields, including banking, newspapers, western heritage, city government, telecommunications, and graphics. In 1993, she started her own business, consulting for major companies such as Rockwell, ARCO, MCI, and several smaller businesses. In 1997, both she and Jim retired, and they embarked on a new chapter of life together, traveling across the United States in their RV. For 15 years, they enjoyed an unstructured life of adventure, exploring coast to coast, the mountains, and National Parks.
Connie is survived by her loving husband Jim; her sons Trey Snider and his wife Mimi, and their children Boaz and Lilly; Kip Snider and his wife Michelle, and their sons Dallas and Nathan; her stepdaughter Rachel Haley husband Chris and her children Taylor and Jason Weatherly..
A devout Christian, Connie was always eager to share the word and good news of Jesus Christ. She did so in many ways throughout her life. Now, she shares her eternal home with Jesus.
