

Born in Dallas, Cheryl grew up in the Lake Highlands community and graduated from Lake Highlands High School. She went on to attend the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, nurturing her lifelong love for creativity and expression.
After graduation, Cheryl moved to California, where she built a vibrant and fulfilling life. She worked as a jeweler before beginning a long and successful career with AT&T, where she dedicated over 30 years in a variety of roles. During this time, she met her beloved partner, Rae, with whom she shared many joyful years.
Cheryl was known for her generous spirit and uplifting presence. A passionate collector, she surrounded herself with art, treasures, and an ever-growing family of animals—cats, dogs, birds, and countless strays who were lucky enough to find her care. Her home reflected her unique eye for beauty, her warm heart, and her deep compassion for all living things.
Cheryl is survived by her sister, Charlotte Watts, and her husband, Doug Watts; her brother, Edy Sherman, and his wife, Patty Sherman; her nieces and nephews, Ashleigh Allison and Travis Allison and their families, as well as Cara and Jessie Sherman and their family. She was cherished by many and will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, and unwavering love for family and friends.
Cheryl’s life was a testament to generosity, joy, and the beauty of connection. She leaves behind memories that will continue to inspire and comfort those who were fortunate enough to know her.
