The way in which he was able to get control and focus in on that one dog during events will always amaze me. So patient, so caring, so friendly, and most important so passionate!

Even though Tina and I only got to know you for a short amount of time, we got to see the beauty of this organization through your eyes. You will be truly missed. May you rest in peace.

Carlos was in my brothers class at DHS so I didn’t know him well but after my divorce he tried to help me by listening, sharing his view point and encouraging me to get out of the dark place I was in.  Carlos was all love and light and the world will be a bit dinner without him. His love of animals knew no bounds and he was just a sweet sweet soul. 
Rest easy now Carlos with your Clover and all the animals that loved you so much!

Carlos you were the kindest sole! The way you looked into those dogs eyes and made them feel so safe! You were a genuine amazing human. Every time we made contact you were so kind and sweet . You will be so greatly missed from all living beings here on earth. You are in a bright part of the universe existing with all the sweet animal beings that have gone before you. The memory of you and you amazing photography will forever be etched in my heart . Rest easy sweet sole ❤️

Carlos was always a friendly, loving person. From high school to an adult, never a negative word said from or about him. The world needed more people like you Carlos, rest in peace my friend.

I went to school with Carlos K through 12… we were not close friends, but Carlos was friendly with everyone. I’ve followed him on social media for many years and have been so moved by all of his work (photos and writing). I mourned the loss of Clover with him. There is no way Carlos could have known how much he was loved by so many people. We will always miss his presence and I pray he is resting in perfect peace!

I only know of Carlos through my friends in rescue and those who work at the Tri-City Animal Shelter that serves the cities of Duncanville (where he lived), Cedar Hill, and DeSoto (where I live).  His photos of the animals and his stories about them obviously made a big difference in whether they found loving homes.  The world needs more like Carlos, and we need to nurture and support those who serve to help God's creatures be treated with compassion and love.

Carlos was such a kind hearted and selfless man. He graciously helped me out by taking amazing pictures of a litter of foster puppies and their mama.  I didn’t ask for a picture of me, but he knew the importance of documenting memories-and he did so beautifully.  This picture holds new meaning for me now-i will always think of him when I see it and remember what a gentle, kind soul he was. 
To his family- I’m so deeply sorry for your loss. I hope you can find some peace and comfort in knowing what a special person he was, how much good he did in this world, and how many lives he touched with his kindness. RIP Carlos.

My condolences to everyone close to Carlos. We meet through the love of dogs at the Wags n Waves event. He was always so sweet to us. Rest in peace with all the during babies!

I'm going to miss our random dinners we would plan just to catch up since schedules would be so hectic. You always would make the time. I'm still wishing I could call you now to ask how to get through some days.
