Carla Berry Byrd, a beloved mother, grandmother, and motorcycle enthusiast, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025 at the age of 73. She was known for her strong spirit, her unwavering love for family, and her passion for riding her Harley-Davidson. Carla spent most of her life working with at-risk children. She had a passion for helping children.
Early Life and Family: Born on March 1, 1952, in Dallas, Texas. Carla was a loving, kind, free-spirited, and fearless woman. She is survived by her children, Bart and Misty Braswell, Joe Braswell, and Lucky Nye, countless grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her cherished Harley-Davidson, which she loved to ride on the open road.
A Life of Passion: Carla found joy in the simple things in life, especially spending time with loved ones, fishing, and the freedom of the open road on her Harley. She was a fiesty, free-spirited, caring woman, and always had a smile for everyone she met.
Legacy of Love: Carla's memory will be forever cherished by those who loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a spirit of adventure that will continue to inspire her family and friends. She often spoke of wanting her family to enjoy the little things like fishing, watching her grandchildren and great-children grow up. She loved to make sure her sons knew who was boss and never let them off the hook.
Services: A celebration of Carla's life will be held on July 5th. The family will give more information at a later date.
