Alex was born in San Diego on May 10th, 1988 to Dan and Kathleen Berry. She attended high school at University of San Diego where she was a standout soccer and softball player. She later went on to attend the University of Arizona and San Diego State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. After college, Alex moved to Dallas where she began working at Wolters Kluwer as an Account Manager. It was there where she met her future husband, Matthew Honer. Alex and Matt were married in Dallas in September of 2016 and moved back to San Diego in 2017.
Alex’s passions included animals, exercise, cooking, hot sauce, and taking care of the people she loved. She excelled at lifting up family and friends; supporting them through the many ups and downs of life. In 2022, Alex accomplished the biggest goal of her life by becoming a mother. Being a mom brought a joy and purpose to her life that she had never before known.
Alex’s sudden passing has left a deep void in the lives of her family and friends. She will be remembered for her infectious smile, caring nature, and unwavering love for her family.
Alex is survived by her husband, Matt; daughter, Kennedy; mother, Kathleen; sister, Lindsey and her husband Bryan; sister Kyla and her husband JD; brother, Adrien and his wife Carrie; brother, Micah and his wife Fran; niece, Aila; nephew, Taishi; and beloved dog, Davis. The family is choosing to honor Alex’s incredible spirit with a Celebration of Life Ceremony on June 24 in Dallas, Texas with details to be released at a later date.
