Dr. William (Bill) Demyan of Indianapolis, IN passed away on September 8, 2018. Bill was born on October 7th, 1958 to Cyril Demyan and the late Rose Demyan (Hartnett) in Pittsburg, PA. He was the proud father of Vincent, Rachel, and Lewis. Bill is also survived by the mother of his children, Lisa (Patrick) Fagan, and his siblings: David (Nancy) Demyan, Rosemarie Demyan, Margaret (Michael) Getty, and Kathryn (Todd) Piltz.
For Bill, life was an opportunity to share moments of laughter, to artistically reflect, and to nurture one’s intellectual growth. He had a deep appreciation for the arts, culture, humanitarian relief, education, health, poverty alleviation, science, philosophy and technology. Dr. William Demyan is celebrated as a biochemist, researcher, businessman, co-editor of the Idlers of the Bamboo Grove, comedian, poet, father, brother, and son. Bill delicately captures the human experience of existence and the feelings of those who loved him in a late poem, “The time I need… is just a lifetime.”
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 27th from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Gallup Park in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
