Vernon William Richmond Jr.

Vernon W. Richmond, Jr., 75, passed away on Friday, July 6th, 2018 at the Monticello Healthcare Center, Monticello, Indiana where he resided for a year and half. He married Linda Carol Painter on August 30th, 1997, she preceded him in death March 11th, 2008.

Vernon was a graduate of Seaman Rural High, Topeka, Kansas where he was active in the FFA and played football. He worked for the State of Kansas as a correctional officer for several years before relocating to Kansas City working in security until retiring in 2009. He enjoyed watching the KC Chiefs and working in his yard.

Vernon is survived by three sisters, Helen Herring and Brenda Gockel of Topeka and Linda (Terry) Nigh of West Lafayette, Indiana and three brothers, Charles (Melva Jean) Mize, Donald Mize, and Richard Mize all of Topeka. He was also preceded in death by his parents.

Vernon will be deeply missed by family and friends. Services in Blue Springs, Missouri are pending. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Neptune Society.
