Born October 1, 2009, in Detroit, Michigan, Torry Andrew Latello was destined to change the world in a mere thirteen years. He left this world on June 26, 2023. Although his life was cut short, his impact was profound. Torry’s journey to become a Latello started in 2011 when his, now, older brother started praying non-stop for a brother. God listened and introduced the Latellos to an amazing little boy in 2012.
The day they met Torry, they knew right away he was meant to be their son. God gave his mom the scripture of Hebrews 13:2 which states “Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing so, some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.” They knew they were in the presence of a true angel. They moved forward with adopting Torry in spite of his complexities. God blessed the adoption, and Torry officially became a Latello on December 12, 2012.
Torry’s clear calling in life was to teach what unconditional love truly meant. Everyone that met Torry instantly fell in love with him. Although Torry was non-verbal, he accomplished more in thirteen years than most do in a lifetime. Torry’s smile did the talking for him. Everyone knew when he was feeling happy, silly, and even mischievous, just by his smile. If you knew Torry, you knew of his love of sharks.
Torry leaves behind his loving parents, Chris and Sarah Latello; his adoring sisters, Amaya and Paige; and dedicated brother, Jaxson; his maternal grandparents, Paul and Judy Coe; his paternal grandparents, Mark Latello and Diane Wagner; a great-grandmother, Anita Latello; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Torry’s family extended to many others who fought for him in many ways. This included the staff and students of Randolph Southern School Corporation, as well as a multitude of healthcare professionals such as Lynn Fire Department and Randolph County EMS. The family specifically wants to thank the staff of Riley Children’s Hospital, who went above and beyond to help make Torry’s quality of life to be the best it could be.
Torry’s life touched so many and he will be greatly missed.
In lieu of services, the family chose to celebrate Torry’s life at the hospital among the many family and friends whom he loved dearly. The family noted that if Torry and his life have impacted you in any way, please consider making a donation to the Lynn Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary in Torry’s name. Donations can be dropped off at the Lynn City Building, or mailed to Jonathon Nicholson at P.O. Box 725, Lynn, Indiana 47355.
Neptune Society is in charge of cremation arrangements.
