Scott graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1974, where he was very involved in choir and theatre. He then furthered his education by getting a Master’s Degree in Education from IUPUI. He worked as a teacher in Wayne Township. Scott retired after thirty-five years of educating young minds at Robey Elementary and Westlake Elementary.
Scott spent many years in civic theatres and various choirs. Scott’s voice was unmatched and never forgotten. He had multiple friend groups that he loved dearly. Scott loved many, but nothing compared to his grandchildren. Scott’s love for his grandchildren was so special and so pure.
He was an avid collector of all things music. Scott had many favorite artists, but the top two were definitely The Monkees and The Carpenters. Though Scott’s music collection was extensive, NOTHING compares to the GI Joe Collection. Scott had a true passion for the Joes. He was an active member of Bridgeport United Methodist Church, and was a Brother at the Bridgeport Masonic Lodge.
Scott is survived by: his daughter, Alexandra (Ali) Cline (Justin Day); his grandchildren, Wyatt Albright, Wrenn Albright, & Harlan Day; a brother, James (Joe) Cline; a sister-in-law, Beth Cline; step-sister, Jeannie Black Francalancia (Anthony); step-brother, Joel (Robin) Black; nephews, Martin (Greta) Cline, John (Lisa) Cline, Wes (Angie) Archer, Andy (Sarah) Archer, Ryan (Katie) Archer, Kevin Black; nieces, Caroline (Jeff) Cartwright, Marci (Matt) Niehoff; and several great-nieces & nephews.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Frank Cline & Ellen Cline; stepmother, Barbara Cline; a brother, Phillip (Steve) Cline; a sister, Brenda Cline Archer; a stepbrother, Jeff Black; and brother-in -law, Richard Scarbrough.
