Russel C. Nieman

Russ was born on Dec. 8, 1943 in Elmhurst, Illinois to Clarence (Buck) and Elnor (Felbinger) Nieman. He attended Immanuel Lutheran grade school in Elmhurst and Concordia Lutheran High School in Milwaukee.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1965-67. Russ continued his education at College of DuPage and Lewis University. He worked for Electro-Motive, Div. of General Motors in LaGrange, Illinois and Allison Transmission, Div. of General Motors in Indianapolis, Indiana. Upon retirement from General Motors, he became a sales representative for St. Clair Technologies in Wallaceburg, Ontario, Canada.

Russ married Carol Herman (Van Tassell) on September 4, 1981. Together they had three daughters.

Russ was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by: his wife, Carol, children, Kim Nieman, Kristina Stewart (Joe), Lesley Deiler (Dan) and six grandchildren, Felisha Stewart, Micaela and Rebecca Ensey, Samantha and Vanessa Stewart and Landon Deiler; siblings, Judy Joyner (Dick), Carol Curtis, Doug (Holly) Nieman, Jim (Darlene) Nieman and 4 nieces and 3 nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, August 19, 2019 at Second Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis with calling at 10:00 am in the Parlor and service in the Chapel at 11:00 am.
