Roberta Marie Baker, 87, of Crawfordsville, Indiana went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Franciscan Health Crawfordsville.
She was born June 20, 1937, in Indianapolis, to Theodore Holsapple and Mary Ewbank. Roberta was an active member of the Athens Saddle Club, a member of Church of Abundant Faith, and she retired from Speedway in 1999, after twenty-two years of dedicated service. Roberta enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, attending races and sporting events, as well as traveling to Mississippi to spend time with family.
She is survived by: a brother, Jay (Kathy) Holsapple, of Indianapolis; a son, Dennis (Wendy) Baker; daughters, Cindi (Joe) Lewis and Jacki Riggen; and a brother-in-law, Fred Baker, all of Crawfordsville; grandchildren, Dennis and Mike Baker of Crawfordsville, Chris (Nikki) Gleason of Valdosta, Georgia, Justin Schweitzer of Crawfordsville, Erin McCarty of Kosciusko, Mississippi, Briana Baker of Darlington, Brittany (Sam) Brown of Waynetown, Jared Riggen of Mooresville, and Chuck Riggen of Warwick, Rhode Island. Step-grandchildren: Christopher (Char) Harshman of Linden, Nicholas Harshman of Frankfort, Chaila (Josh) Jordan of Crawfordsville, and Rob Lewis of Indianapolis. Great-grandchildren: Dayton (Darzy) Hastings, Austin Hastings, Kadence McCarty, Aubrey McCarty, Harley McCarty, Emma Brown, Clayton Brown, William Brown, Addilynn Riggen, Jessica Riggen, Adriana Riggen, Giavanna Riggen, Kaden Baker, Addison Baker, Jase Gleason. Step-great-grandchildren: Sydney Harshman, Andrew Harshman, Alyssa Harshman, Ethen Harshman, Brycen Jordan, Graycen Jordan, and Lainey Lewis. Great-great-grandchildren: Ophelia Saige and Cohen Charles. Beloved nieces and nephew, Anita, Christal, Craig, Stacy, and Tamara.
Roberta was preceded in death by: her husband, Max Baker; her parents, Theodore Holsapple and Mary (Mel) Ewbank; a daughter, Mary Anna; and a son, Brian Maris.
A Celebration of Life was held Thursday, January 16, 2025. Neptune Society has been entrusted with cremation arrangements.
