Robert “Dobbie” Eugene Dobbins of Jamestown, Indiana passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at the age of 93. He was born on May 23, 1932, in Mooresville, Indiana where he grew up with his two brothers, John and Charles, and sister, Fletitia “Tish” Downs.
Bob graduated from Mooresville High School. He was in the Naval Reserves for over 9 years. Bob worked as a Supervisor of Field Projects at Public Service Indiana (PSI)/Duke Energy and retired after working there for over 40 years. He was actively involved in the Plainfield Eagles Lodge #3207.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Stanley Dobbins and Gladys Dobbins-Briggs, his two brothers and sister, and one son Dik Dobbins.
Bob is survived by his wife Carolyn Sue (Borders) Dobbins, who he was happily married to for 59 years, sons Wesley (Terry) Dobbins, Jeff (Sylvia) Williams and Robert (Mara) Williams; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
After retirement, Bob and Sue were snowbirds living in Florida for a couple years and then Arizona for many, many years. They also enjoyed traveling with Bob’s sister Tish and her husband Carl over the years. Bob found joy in life’s simple pleasures – classic westerns on tv and the familiar melody of “Hello Walls” playing in the background.
The family would like to thank Brighton Hospice for the care and compassion they showed their loved one in his final days.
There will be no services.
