

Bob grew up in Hammond and Hobart. He graduated from Hobart High School in 1985. After high school, Bob worked training horses at Balmoral Racetrack in Illinois. For a short time, Bob rode rodeo competitively and went to trade school to become a Ferrier.
In 1991, Bob secured employment at Roadway Express (YRC Freight) as a dockworker until his retirement in December of 2017. He was a proud member of Teamsters Local 710.
Bob loved his friends, teddy bears, sunflowers, Chicago Cubs and Bears. His passion was riding his Harley whenever he could. He earned several nicknames over the years: Bemer, Big Bob, and Triple B. Bob loved living in Cedar Lake and always said it felt like home. He was always up for a good time.
Bob is survived by his life partner of thirty-three years, Patricia (Trish) Foley; his sister, Adeline (Cary) Hmurovic of Gary and their extended family: sisters, Irene (Randall) Emmick, Maureen Foley; a brother, Kevin (Melanie) Foley; sisters-in- law, Angie and Corky Foley; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Cedar Lake American Legion Post #261 at 13050 Washington St., Cedar Lake, IN 46303.
