

Richard Engle Stockton of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on August 1, 2021 at the age of 88. He was born on February 7, 1933 in Indianapolis, to Mary Jo (Engle) and Walter Scott Stockton. Richard graduated from Arsenal Tech High School in 1951. He worked as a mechanical engineer for a number of firms throughout his career.
He was preceded in death by his one brother, Walter Scott Stockton II. He is survived by his wife of almost 64 years, Mary Juanita (Hood) Stockton, four children, Monica (Doug) Jett, Susan (Clyde) Hague, Mark (Cherie) Stockton and Tom Stockton. He is also survived by ten grandchildren: Zach (Hollie) Jett, Austin (Taylor) Jett, Melody (Austin) Blackwell, Tyler (Whitney) Hague, Heather (Davison) Hague, Corey Stockton, Alex Stockton, Jacob Stockton, Toby Stockton and Maranda Stockton, six great grandchildren: Harper Jett, Hudson Jett, Sloan Jett, Nora Jo Blackwell, Zeke Blackwell and Oliver Hague. And one nephew Walter Scott (Nancy) Stockton III, and their three children, Sydney, Alex and Theo. Richard is also survived by a son, Richard Yarger.
The family would like to thank the nurses at Community East Hospital for the care and compassion they showed Richard in his final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Franklin Road Church of Christ, Indianapolis, Indiana, on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at 4:00 pm. Visitation with the family will begin at 3:00 pm.
