Ms. Margaret Alice Carter, daughter of the late Francis Townsend and Marguerite Alice Kaylor Townsend was born August 10, 1946 in Marion, Indiana. She graduated from Marion High School class of 1964. “Margie” attended Wabash County school and graduated as a Licensed Operating Technician in 1965. She was united in holy matrimony to Albert Lee Carter, on February 5, 1968. This union was blessed with two daughters: Vivien Lee Carter and Catherine Elizabeth (Carter) Wilkerson. Margaret and Albert divorced in June 1974. Margaret moved to Cincinnati, Ohio with her two daughters where she remained until she moved back to Marion, Indiana in 2012. She quietly departed this life on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at St Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Her family and friends were by her side. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Vivien Carter (Tallent) and Catherine Carter Wilkerson (Christopher) who live in Bermuda and Cincinnati, Ohio respectively. Margaret was also blessed with 7 grandchildren: Matthew (27), Ari (22), Taylor (19), Julian (17), James (15), Meghan (9), and Anaya (7). Margaret had a giving soul and was always willing to feed anyone who was hungry. She taught her daughters that love has no boundaries. She had a passion to sew and sing. She also baked a ‘mean’ carrot cake. But above all, her love for her family and her grandchildren was by far her truest passion. The family wishes to give all of those who cared for her during her last days their greatest gratitude. Per Margaret’s request the cremation will take place on Monday May 22, 2017. Friends and family are invited to attend her Celebration of Life Memorial services from 2pm- 4pm at Crossroads Community Church (Chapel) located at 3500 Madison Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45209. Floral arrangements and condolences can be sent to Crossroads Church in care of Margaret Carter.
