John Baker Shideler, 96, Indianapolis, passed away February 17, 2019. He was born August 8, 1922, the son of Fred W. Shideler and Chellah (Baker) Shideler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Isabelle Mae (Clemmer) Shideler, whom he married in 1949. As a young boy, John was active in scouting, earning the recognition of Eagle Scout as well as two Eagle Palms. He served his nation during both WW II and the Korean War as a member of the U.S. Navy, where he was an Electrician’s Mate First Class. In 1953, he became a licensed electrician. John was a member of the Millersville Masonic Lodge F & AM #126. In 1982, he and Isabelle moved to Phoenix, AZ. Following her passing, John moved to Greenville, SC in 2014 and back to Indianapolis in 2016. Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 29 at 10 AM at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix with High Military Honors.
