John J. Foutz

John J. Foutz, 89, Muncie, and formerly of Modoc until his retirement, passed away August 13, 2018. He was born March 3, 1929 in Modoc, the son of Ralph and Ethel Foutz. John grew up and raised his family in Modoc. He served in the Air Force in the Korean War. John retired from Dana Corporation in Hagerstown, IN after 35 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, where he was presented with a Gold Card for 60 years of continuous service.

John was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Doris Foutz, his daughter Sherry Harrell, his son-in-law, Randy Harrell, his granddaughter, Jody Harrell, and his great-granddaughter, Julie Harrell. John is survived by his daughters, Vicki Hiatt and Teresa Hinshaw; his granddaughters, Shawna Richardson and Heather O’Dell; his great-grandchildren, Dylan O’Dell, Daniel O’Dell, Baylee Richardson, and Bella Richardson; and his special nephew, Terry Foutz.

A private service with military honors will take place in the future. Memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or American Legion Post #353, 7738 W.
