Jeremy was born on September 25th, 1976, in El Paso, Texas. He spent his early years in Oklahoma, where he acquired his love of Sooner football and the iconic restaurant Eskimo Joes. His family moved to Indiana, and Jeremy attended North Central High School followed by Vincennes University. While in high school, Jeremy met many lifelong friends, including his wife, who will miss him deeply.
Jeremy spent much of his career in the telecom industry, where he had the privilege of working with his childhood friend Jeremy Shockey. A summer job painting houses as part of his football coach’s crew turned into a home repair side gig. This led to Jeremy restoring a hundred-year-old home with his wife and partially restoring another.
However, his real joy was music. In high school, Jeremy was part of an alternative rock band with several of his friends. Through the years he continued to play guitar with friends in the basement studio he created. He was also an avid gardener, filling every home he lived in with abundant greenery and flowers. In the last few years, Jeremy was privileged to be able to retire early to spend more time on these hobbies and travel with Stephanie.
Jeremy is survived by his wife Stephanie (Bibeau) of 25 years, daughter Hayley Vierling, parents Carol (Styron) and Alex West, sister Cassie (West), brother-in-law Adam Rohn, niece Lauren Rohn, nephew Tyler Rohn, brother Jeff West, many loving in-laws, and close friends.
Please join us for a celebration of Jeremy’s life Sunday, January 11th at 3:00 p.m. at the Indy Art Center Library, 820 E 67th St., Indianapolis, IN 46220.
