He was born on July 31,1949 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Robert and Alma Trees. He was a graduate of Shelbyville High school, obtaining his undergraduate degree from Indiana Central in 1971, followed by his Masters of Divinity at Christian Theological Seminary in 1975.
Jeff spent his life committed to serving the Lord as a United Methodist Minister assisting others to grow in their relationship with Christ. He remained active in his church after retirement and continued to volunteer weekly leading bible study at a local nursing home. He enjoyed family, friends, music, and exercise, known for his witty humor and endless dumb dad jokes.
He leaves behind two children, Matt Trees and Sarah (Travis) Kenyon; three grandchildren, Tyler Mitchell, Wyatt Kenyon, and Halle Kenyon; two stepdaughters, Tiffanee Cash and Angelia Hopper and their families; his sister, Judy (Fred) Conger; niece, Jennifer (Tony) Rodriquez, and nephew, Nathan (Linda) Conger; as well as his loving church family of Avon United Methodist.
Jeff was preceded in death by: his parents, Alma and Robert Trees; as well as his wife of twenty-three years, Diana Trees.
A Celebration of Life will be on March 8, 2025 at Avon United Methodist Church, 6850 E US Hwy 36, Avon, IN 46123 at 2:00 pm, with visiting hour beginning at 1:00pm.
