Rev. Janet G. Smith

Reverend Janet, as she is fondly known, was proudly ordained as a Unity minister on her 50th birthday, and she served at Unity of Cape Cod for 16 years before retiring to the Midwest. She enjoyed community service activities, in addition to her role as Executive Director of the YWCA in Lima, Ohio.

Reverend Janet owned an employment agency with her former husband, Chuck Hankins with whom she had three children who survive her: Greg Hankins (Julie Houston) of Delaware, Ohio, Carrie Hankins of Portland, Oregon, and Marcie Hankins (Nancy Lafferty) of McCordsville, Indiana. She is also survived by her sister, Kathy White (Bill) and grandchildren, Kelsey Velazquez (Freddy), Chad Lafferty (Sarah), and Luke Wihebrink.

Reverend Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Herrin Gill and Ethel May (Atterberry) Gill, and her brother, Daniel Gill.
