Isabel Elizabeth Atcheson

Isabel Elizabeth (Hedrick) Atcheson, 79, of Marion, Indiana died on May 2, 2026, at Garrett, Indiana. She was born November 8, 1946, to Robert and Elizabeth (Wingerd) Hedrick in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Isabel grew up largely in Warren, Pennsylvania, graduating from Warren Area High School in 1964. She graduated with a BS in Chemistry from Grove City College in 1968. She met Richard M. Atcheson there, and they were married June 22, 1968, in Warren, Pennsylvania.

Isabel was active with Lions Clubs International, First Friends Church, Westminster Presbyterian Church, Extension Homemakers, Leader Dogs for the Blind, Paws With a Cause, and Grove City Outing Club (Pennsylvania).

Isabel is survived by son, Gary (Leslie) Atcheson, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and daughter, Joyce (Jeffery) Williams, Garrett, Indiana; and four grandchildren: George, Elizabeth, April, and Janet Williams. She is also survived by brothers Lyle (Glenda) Hedrick, James (Sarah Anne) Hedrick, Thomas (Margaret) Hedrick, and sister Linda (Allyn) Lay.

Isabel was preceded in death by her husband Richard M. Atcheson, parents Robert and Elizabeth (Wingerd) Hedrick, brother-in-law Joel Chesser, and sister-in-law Janet (Atcheson) Jackson.

Services will be held at 10:00am Tuesday, May 12 at First Friends Church in Marion, Indiana with visitation on Monday, May 11 from 4:00 pm to 8:00pm and on Tuesday, May 11 at 9:00am. Interment will take place later at Helen Furnace, Pennsylvania.
