He also had five very much-loved grandchildren, Alexa, Michael and Noah Williams, Grayden and Kate Beach, two step-grandsons, Logan and Ethan Robbins, and a wonderful extended family of Williamses, Conrads and Stohlers. After college, he spent four years in the United States Navy, serving in Pensacola, Florida, Edzell, Scotland, and Norfolk, Virginia. Upon returning from the military, he worked for General Motors for thirty-seven years at Delco Remy and Magnequench, followed by consulting work for two years. Howard was an avid fisherman, fly tier, rod maker, and volunteer. He enjoyed volunteering at Anderson St Vincent and his church, where he ushered, cooked, washed dishes, and served on committees. He was an active and dedicated member of First United Methodist Church. His other love was his family and grandchildren. Their activities provided him many hours of enjoyment. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, August 19th at Anderson First United Methodist Church at 2 pm. Visitation will be prior to the memorial service from noon to 2 pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Howard’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to First United Methodist Church or to www.walktodefeatals.org (team name ‘Williams Warriors’).
