Dorothy Ann Currier

Dorothy Ann (Hamel) Currier, age 84, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Wellbrooke of Avon. She was born in Boston, Massachusetts on August 15, 1940, to Roland Hamel and Mary (Smith) Hamel.

Dorothy attended school at St. Theresa’s in Brewer, Maine. She married Lawrence Currier and he passed away August of 2019. She worked as a stitcher at Farmington Shoe Factory in New Hampshire for many years until retirement. She and Larry moved to Florida in 1987 to enjoy retirement. Dorothy enjoyed crocheting and camping. After Larry passed away, Dorothy moved back to Indiana in 2022 to be close to family.

Left behind to cherish her memory are: her sons, Michael (wife, Pat) Vigue, Thomas Vigue, and John DeVore; daughter, Mary DeVore; a sister, Coline Goodrich; fifteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Lawrence Currier Sr.; her parents, Roland and Mary Hamel; a brother, Timothy G. Roy Sr.; and a sister, Joanne Deeds.

A Celebration of Life is being planned at a later date in Maine. Neptune Society has been entrusted with cremation arrangements.
