Dennis Lee Leach

Dennis Lee Leach, 77, of Cutler, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family, after a short battle with cancer. He was born on July 26, 1946, to the late Mary G. (Harshman) Leach and Floyd F. Leach in Frankfort, Indiana, where he grew up.

He graduated from Frankfort Senior High School and then joined the U.S. Army in 1965. He was a dog handler in Vietnam for seventeen months.

Dennis married the love of his life, Jacqueline H. Rist on May 2, 1970 and they shared fifty-three years together. Dennis worked as a Millwright at Chrysler Transmission Plant in Kokomo for 40 years and then retired.

Left behind to treasure his memory are: his loving wife, Jackie; three daughters, Melissa Newman (Tim), Laura Roy (Craig Morgan), and Brenda Lykins (Brandon); adopted daughter, Lacy Hawn (Jonny); fourteen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, whom he loved to spoil.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Floyd F. Leach and Mary G. (Harshman) Leach.

The family would like to thank Franciscan Cancer Care Team and Franciscan Hospice for the care and compassion they showed Dennis in his final days.

A Private Celebration of Life is being held Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Neptune Society is in charge of cremation arrangements.
