Daniel Michael Stier Sr.

He was born on January 5, 1943, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana to Raymond Stier and Velma (Bork) Stier. On Oct. 6, 1962, he married Dorothy (Miller) Stier, and she preceded his death on June 20, 2018.

Mike served in the U.S. Army for 4 years. After the Army, he worked for GTE in Ft. Wayne for 30+ years as a supervisor.

Mike loved talking to people and did not know a stranger. He was a collector of matchbox cars and enjoyed listening to music from the 50’s and 60’s. He was also a great euchre player and loved to bowl! He enjoyed time spent with his family, especially the grandkids and great grandkids.

Daniel (Mike) is survived by his sister, Sue Brockman (Ft. Wayne, IN); half-sisters Alice Barva (Columbia City, IN), Colleen Barva (Columbia City, IN), Theresa Lott (North Manchester, IN),

Twyla Whitesel (Greenville, OH); Niece Marilyn Schmitt (Ft. Wayne, IN); three children, Daniel Stier and wife, Lori (Franklin, IN), Debra Scott and husband, John (Greenfield, IN) and Douglas Stier (Ft. Wayne, IN); grandchildren, Christine Russell, Joshua Stier, David Stier, Mariah Stier, Abby Hessman, Macy Stier and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; and his parents, Raymond and Velma Stier.

A Memorial Service for Mike will be held at Otterbein Senior Living Chapel at 1070 West Jefferson Street, Franklin, Indiana 46131, on Friday, Feb. 14, 2025. Visitation with the family will be from 10:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m., with service starting at 11:00 a.m.

Neptune Society has been entrusted with cremation arrangements.
