William Joseph Thorn

Bill grew up in Shawnee, Oklahoma and graduated from St Gregory’s High school in 1952. He attended St Gregory’s Junior College and graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University. Bill worked most of his career in the industrial valve sales field and retired from Ladish Valve Co. in 2014.

In 1977, he relocated to Houston, Texas where he met his wife and best friend of forty plus year, Marcia Bronstrop Thorn. He and Marcia raised their granddaughter, Tiffany Satterfield Houston, who he cherished with all his heart.

He is preceded in death by his parents. Cora and Harry Thorn, brothers Harry E Thorn and John W. Thorn and wife Joyce, step daughter Kimberly Satterfield Shamoon , step son Robert E. Harris, brother-in-law Buddy Bronstrop, nephew Bret Bronstrop and niece Amanda Withey.

He is survived by his wife Marcia, granddaughter Tiffany Satterfield Houston (Allen), step-daughter Paula (Jeff), sister-in-law Brenda Bronstrop, nieces Gwyn, Geri, Adair, Sharlet, Beverly, Janet and Kellye, and nephew Henry along with many great nieces, nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Bill will be remembered for his dedication to his family, friends and his gift of service to others. He was the perfect balance of being silly but to the point when he needed to be. He was a blessing to all who knew him.
